Research and teaching at Technische Universität Berlin are inseparably linked. The TU Berlin makes its contribution to shaping the future in an innovative, technology-oriented manner and through holistic approaches. Against this background, natural sciences, planning sciences and engineering sciences research and teach on an equal footing with humanities and social sciences.

Technische Universität Berlin has been an Excellence University since 2019. Together with Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin, it forms the Berlin University Alliance. The aim of the alliance is to overcome the boundaries between disciplines and institutes in order to develop a scientific ‘ecosystem’ in the ‘Brain City Berlin’. With the goal of creating an integrated research space, the four partners promote cooperation not only among themselves but also with other universities, non-university research institutions, museums, civic and political associations, start-ups and partners from industry. Advanced Master Programs (in continuing education) are an important contribution to Berlin as a location for science.

TU-Campus EUREF
, located in Berlin-Schöneberg offers continuing/further education and postgraduate classes and seminars for diverse target groups, research and consulting support and most importantly postgraduate master programs and further education modules that relate directly to the themes of energy transition. From the academic year 2012/2013 onwards “Technische Universität Berlin“ offers master courses on the EUREF Campus in the center of Berlin. The EUREF-Campus around the Gasometer in Berlin-Schöneberg offers unique and attractive local conditions. Students who are the future energy experts learn in a close cooperation with leading enterprises and institutions located on the EUREF-Campus to become acquainted also with practical projects in the field of energy. The practical and technical knowledge is further enhanced by the various excursions to relevant institutions and infrastructure operators that the program offers to the students. They give the junior manager and economists an excellent understanding of all the relevant issues of the energy sector. Therefore, the programs’ interdisciplinary content, which covers the political, economic, technical and legal aspects of the energy markets, gives students and future employees a distinctive profile and qualifies them for a leading position in the energy sector. Learning and studying in small groups of 30-40 students allows individual and excellent learning conditions.
